IO Intel Instructor/Developer Overview

Astrion has an exciting opportunity coming up for an IO Intel Instructor/Developer to join our team and support the 39th Information Operations Squadron (39 IOS). We are preparing to hire for Journeyman, Senior, and SME levels with an anticipated start date in March/April 2026. Cyber Operations Formal Training Support III (CyOFTS III) is a Cyber Schoolhouse program supporting delivery, development, and sustainment of cyber training across operationally relevant mission sets.

The team supports instruction, curriculum and content development, training operations, and program execution at multiple Air Force and joint training locations.

Required Qualifications / Skills
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
  • 5 years of experience in the Operations Information Environment (OIE).
  • Some preferred examples include:
    • Military planning and assessment at various levels (Tactical, Operational, and Strategic) with regard to staffing of deception activities and MISO plans.
    • Field experience in Public Affairs and Strategic Communications with a general understanding of signature management.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver and/or develop instruction aligned to Operations in the Information Environment (OIE).
  • Leverage knowledge and qualifications relating to military planning and assessment at the Tactical, Operational and Strategic levels, applied to staffing deception activities and Military Information Support Operations (MISO) plans. Experience in Public Affairs, Strategic Communications and understanding of signature movement desired; strong familiarity with common processes utilized by the Air component.
  • Augment and support the government and the 39 IOS in accomplishing its training mission and mission support tasks.
  • Comprehend the 39 IOS mission, the cyber training ranges and Weapon Systems associated with the training requirements.
  • Support mission operations in course development, research, analysis, curriculum development, instruction, and evaluation in unclassified and classified environments.
  • Plan, contribute to, research, and analyze Joint and service-specific training documents in accordance with government-approved directions, guidance, and timeline milestones.
  • Plan and analyze Joint and service-specific operations, activities and plans for IW, including current and future structures, teams and plans for CO and IW operations.
  • Plan, design, develop, integrate, modify, update, and instruct required Special Access Program/Special Access Required (SAP/SAR) material for curriculum integration and mission systems where applicable.
  • Contribute to research and analysis of Joint and service-specific Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTP) and threats.
  • Ensure curriculum is up to date with current environments and learning objectives for each course requiring integration.
  • Analyze and review feedback from internal and external sources to ensure currency, consistency, and quality of course material.
  • Observe, participate in exercises and document up-to-date processes and lessons learned.
  • Survey current and postgraduate IW team members to fill information gaps and obtain recent real‑world examples for inclusion in curricula.
  • Augment and support the Government in course planning and development, including all formal training courses, lessons, and related courseware.
  • Develop curriculum in accordance with applicable MTTL and TTL requirements and audit all developed courseware for accuracy, completeness, flow, balance, and clarity of understanding in accordance with 39 IOS SOPs/Instructions/OIs, ACC Instructions, and Joint Directives.
  • Provide documentation for design, development, revision, and administration of FTU training.
  • Utilize the ISD, ADDIE Model, Bloom’s taxonomy, and SAMR Model for all course development. Incorporate future competency modeling methods as learning levels and proficiencies evolve.
  • Provide instructional strategies, methods, media analysis, objective analysis media and a syllabus/course map.
