Performs a variety of skilled construction trade and manual tasks for the maintenance and repair of public buildings, grounds, equipment and related systems; does related work as required.

Examples of Duties

• Performs preventive maintenance inspections on parts, equipment and structures to ensure continued and safe operations;
• Promotes and is conscientious of safety throughout the County and all its buildings;
• Establishes and monitors maintenance intervals, schedules, and procedures;
• Performs predictive and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure the continued operation of heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment;
• Inspects, adjusts, and repairs buildings, equipment, utility distribution systems, and central heating or cooling equipment;
• Repairs or replaces plumbing lines and fixtures in buildings or facilities to ensure continued, safe, and sanitary operations.

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Experience/Training:

• Associates degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Technology, Electrical Technology or closely related field; or
• Two (2) years' experience maintaining and repairing buildings, offices, and grounds; heating & air conditioning equipment and related systems; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training totaling two (2) years.

Certifications:

• Possession of a valid drivers licensed issued by the State of Montana;
• Possession of a Low Pressure Boiler License issued by the State of Montana within 6 months of hire.
