Body Shop Technician

Overview

I-State Truck Center is looking for an experienced Body Shop Mechanic/Technician for our Sioux Falls, South Dakota location. We offer competitive wages. Body Shop Mechanic/Technician roles involve the restoration and repair of damaged vehicles, thorough assessments, and performing repairs to meet safety and quality standards. Proficiency with specialized tools and equipment, collaboration with team members, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and adherence to safety protocols are essential.

Effective communication with customers and ongoing awareness of industry advancements contribute to success in this role. Interstate Companies, Inc. is a dynamic organization with more than 1,600 employees across its corporate office and five operating units:
Interstate Assembly Systems, Interstate Bearing Systems, Interstate Energy Systems, Interstate Power Systems, and I-State Truck Center.

• Wheel alignment, frame repairs, and steering mechanism repairs
• Sandblast, prep, and sand truck chassis, bodies, trailers, and equipment surfaces for painting
• Repair and replace all types of aluminum, fiberglass, and plastic body parts; adjust and modify heavy-duty body components
• Interact positively with service writers, foremen, parts department, and customers
• Keep paperwork updated and submitted upon completion
• Meet requirements for certifications
• Administrative duties related to the role

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must have own set of general tools
• Ability to work with co-workers for troubleshooting and completing repairs
• Technical degree or certification a plus
• Must be physically able to lift and work with no restrictions
• Ability to operate a forklift or obtain a forklift license
