The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members.

• Assess:
  Perform appropriate assessment of physical, social, and psychological status; gather information from patient, family, physician, and the care team.
• Plan:
  Develop an individualized plan of care with patient, family, and team involvement; coordinate education and referrals as needed.
• Implement:
  Coordinate and direct the care team; ensure care aligns with the plan of care and licensure requirements; manage time, supplies, and resources.
• Evaluate:
  Assess outcomes and revise the plan of care accordingly; monitor patient and family satisfaction.

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice. Valid compact licenses must be transferred within 60 days of start.
• RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain a BSN within four years of hire.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution (degree verification required).
• Note:
  
  BSN is required as of the last update on 4/27/2025; employees hired or promoted prior to that date will follow the minimum requirements in place at hire/promotion.

• Ongoing ability to see and read information, operate monitors, and assess patient needs.
• Frequent communication with patients and staff; respond quickly in emergencies.
• Manual dexterity for equipment and documentation duties; computer use for charting.
• Ability to lift and move patients and equipment; navigate crowded work areas.
• Ability to stand for extended periods; ability to drive if required.
