RN Stroke Coordinator
Intermountain Health is hiring an experienced Registered Nurse to coordinate stroke care at our St. Vincent Regional Hospital in Billings, MT.
Base Pay Range$36.00/hr – $56.00/hr (actual rate depends on experience)
Key Responsibilities- Deliver clinical expertise and apply the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—for each stroke patient.
- Coordinate care with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Provide individual and group education for patients and families, tailoring learning plans to physical and emotional needs.
- Serve as a resource for hospital, home care, and community professionals regarding specialty practices.
- Collaborate with physicians on treatment and education plans; develop tools to enhance communication and disease management.
- Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health and adhere to service behavior standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (required) - Licensure:
Current Registered Nurse license;
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years relevant nursing experience; two (2) years in a specialty stroke or acute care area - Additional:
Specialty certifications may be required (e.g., Stroke, Acute Stroke)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Experience in formal education or teaching activities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Positive, caring attitude toward patients
- Knowledge of healthcare technology, equipment, and supplies
- Sound judgment and composure in emergency situations
- Excellent organizational and presentation skills
- Familiarity with state nursing laws, practice guidelines, and clinic policies
- Understanding of adult learning principles and patient education techniques
- Knowledge of nursing processes, healthcare systems, and community resources
- Professionalism and strong work ethic
Ongoing need for the employee to see and read information, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies; frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require verbal communication and hearing; manual dexterity to manipulate equipment; expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients; may be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
