Certified Nurse Aide

Description

Provide therapeutic supervision and medical services to patients. Assist the nursing staff by performing a variety of patient care duties and clerical functions within the Medical Unit. Assures adherence to state statutes and rules, CARF standards, and federal regulations including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part
2. Positively represents the organization and promotes Rimrock’s Mission to the community.

• Daily and weekly vital signs on patients and as directed by nursing staff.
• Inpatient history/ingestion form, all but medical assessment of systems.
• Assist with monitoring detox patients and crisis stabilization patients.
• Assist with detox admissions, including patient care which includes linen changes and bed baths prn, assisting getting patients up for meals and serving trays and monitoring meals for detox patients.
• Provide therapeutic interaction for Crisis Stabilization patients.
• Administers drug screen protocol to patients under supervision of nurse.
• Assist with admissions forms with exception of nursing assessment.
• Conduct BAL’s and urinalysis on patients and charting findings.
• May drive to off-site facilities for client care.
• Other job duties as assigned.

High school graduate and must be currently certified in the state of MT as a CNA. Must have a valid driver's license.

Listening and speaking skills; legible penmanship; interpersonal communication skills in working with the public, doctors and various other departments. Empathy and ability to establish a therapeutic relationship with all types of patients. Computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft software including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Work is indoors in an office environment with moderate noise. Intermittent physical effort involving lifting of up to 25 pounds, walking and stooping is required. A typical workday involves sitting, frequent use of a keyboard, reaching with hands and arms, and talking and hearing, approximately 70% of the time. Approximately 30% or less of the time is spent standing. Normal vision abilities required, including close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Involves everyday risk or discomfort requiring normal safety precautions in an office setting, meeting room and patient care areas. Work may involve mental and emotional stress. Some driving required. Will work primarily at Main Facility.
