Summary/Objective
The Program Manager of Senior Housing Montana has a primary objective of providing effective, professional training and sound leadership to a team of property management staff assigned within the Senior housing locations in Montana. The Program Manager of Senior Housing Montana is accountable for coaching a team at all sites in Montana capable of delivering excellent financial performance, client service, and resident satisfaction.
The Program Manager of Senior Housing will also be the administrator for Magic City Terrace while providing support and supervision to the Aspen Grove staff.
- Train, motivate, and retain staff. Responsible for scheduling supervision time with the Community Administrator in Montana Volunteers of America Northern Rockies’ (VOANR) Senior Living Programs.
- Clearly articulates expectations to the on-site team accountable for successful job performance, adherence to property budgets, compliance with regulatory restrictions, retention of highly qualified staff, and maintenance of physical assets to owner/regulator standards.
- Supervise the Senior Housing Community Administrator in Montana, ensuring that all bookkeeping, marketing, and lease preparations are performed as required.
- Assist the Senior Director of Housing with staff training, leading, and development at all Montana Senior Living locations within VOANR.
- Promote communication across the Senior housing locations and the entire VOANR housing portfolio.
- Schedule biweekly meetings with the Program Manager of Senior Living Wyoming and the Program Manager of Mental Health Housing to promote consistency and communication across the portfolio.
- Gather data and report information to the Senior Director of Housing as required, including income verification (EIV), EIV compliance, and EIV master binders.
- Execute Auditing and preparation for all operational aspects of the housing and outpatient, including Real Estate Assessment Center (REAC), Management Occupancy Review (MOR), Financial, and physical building.
- Submit reports as required by the management agent or mandated by the federal, state, or local government.
- Schedule and participate in the rotation of on-call duty.
- Inspect the property to ensure buildings and grounds are adequately maintained. Ensure actions are taken to repair and support facilities, including Magic City Terrace and Aspen Grove.
- Adhere to Housing and Urban Development (HUD) rules and comply with all requirements for both properties and residents.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to effectively work with a variety of computer software programs, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, One Site, and Desktop Publishing
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, to include 40+ hours/week and on-call weekend rotations
- Ability to regularly and effectively maintain good relations with residents, employees, contractors, and the public

This position has direct supervisory responsibilities and may serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the organization.
Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. This would require lifting files, opening filing cabinets, and bending or standing on a stool as necessary.
PositionType/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Be on call as needed. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
TravelFrequent travel is required for inspections, training, and supervision.
Required Education, Experience, Or Eligibility Qualifications- Associate degree, plus a minimum of three years of residential property management experience
OR
- High School Diploma or equivalent, plus seven years of residential property management experience.
- Working knowledge of HUD housing and tenant and eviction laws
- COS
- Certified Occupancy Specialist (within six months of employment)
- A bachelor’s in business, education, communication, or social work, plus a minimum of two years of residential property management experience.
