Overview
The CT Tech performs a variety of CT procedures using ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. This position uses ingenuity, initiative, and independent judgment to perform high quality scans.

Hours:
36. The hourly range for this position is $35.25 - $54.39, dependent upon experience.
- Maintains ARRT competency in all clinical and technical functions of the job.
- Understanding and operation of CT equipment and related information systems to ensure production of quality images.
- Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and prepare the patient for the exam.
- Perform exams per department protocol.
- Review and evaluate images for quality, clarity, and accuracy, ensuring that all necessary anatomical structures are captured.
- Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment for patients and staff.
- Complete studies within acceptable time limitations per department expectations without compromising patient care or image quality.
- Provide appropriate patient education, ensure patient comfort, and address patient and/or family concerns.
- Coordinate patient care and communicate pertinent information to other patient care providers following the procedure.
- Practice appropriate infection control and sterile techniques.
- Keep accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions or incidents.
- Follow appropriate protocol for medical necessity, coding and charging, obtaining necessary consents, maintaining QC program, and reporting equipment failures.
- Administer contrast media as ordered by the physician under radiologist or physician supervision and provide education on safety concerns related to contrast administration.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in CT technology, techniques, and protocols by participating in continuing education and professional development activities.
- Assist and instruct students and other radiology technologists in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment.
- Understanding of sectional anatomy, anatomic terminology, and positioning competency.
- Proficiency in operating CT equipment with knowledge of CT imaging techniques and protocols.
- Knowledge of protocols relating to contrast administration, including contrast injector operation where applicable.
- Understanding and proficiency with electronic imaging including ability to view, transfer and manipulate images.
- Ability to recognize emergent patient situations and respond appropriately.
- Ability to function independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with other caregivers and patients.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and safe environment for patients and staff.
- ARRT (RT)(R) Upon Hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 Days
- IV Certification within 60 Days
- Relevant state licensure Upon Hire
- For caregivers in Colorado, a Fluoroscopy License is required Upon Hire
- Where applicable, complete the controlled substance module within 30 Days
- Where applicable, complete the initial moderate sedation module within 30 Days
- Specific facility-based certifications may be required; each facility defines and manages compliance.
- 1-2 years of CT experience
- Experience in a healthcare setting
- Licenses and Certifications
- ARRT (R)
- Relevant State licensure (where required)
- IV Competency within 30 days of hire
- BLS certification for healthcare providers
- Proficiency in 5 of the following areas: CT Certification/Registration, Interventional CT, Cryo/microwave ablations, CT Coronary Angiography, TAVR/TMVR, Cardiac, Stroke perfusion imaging, Pediatric CT (under 15) in at least 80% of patient workload. Must complete a minimum of 5 cases per specialty with skills sign-off by a lead CT tech.
