Position: Dually Licensed MH Therapist / LAC
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Mental Health Therapist / LAC participates as a member of an interdisciplinary team demonstrating a working knowledge of best practice model in delivering full range of mental health services and Addiction Counseling. Delivers clinical services following protocol outlined in the Policies and Procedures Manual and adheres to all ethical and statutory obligations mandated by professional license. Responsible for providing outpatient level I and II services.
Responsible for managing assigned caseload in compliance within scope of licensing, and under the supervision of the Behavioral Health Director and/or Center Director. Assess and treat individuals with substance abuse problems. Activities may include individual, family, and group therapy, crisis intervention, case management, client advocacy, prevention, and education. Provides alcohol and drug related counseling and case management for New Day Outpatient Services.
MAJOR FUNCTIONSCompletes Biopsychosocial, chemical dependency, and substance use disorder assessments on all clients, and makes recommendations.Develops master treatment plans that dictate treatment modality for the clints that allows for the most appropriate initial course of action.Documents client-related treatment information in accordance with accepted client record management.Provides substance use counselling services to participants in individual, group, and family capacities.Coordinates all substance use treatment activities with other service activities within the Outpatient Adult Treatment Programs.Provides addiction related education to all assigned ancillary groups in Outpatient Adult Treatment Programs.Completes discharge summary within 10 working days of participant’s discharge.Ensures aftercare follow-up questionnaires are completed and tabulated in compliance with program policy.Maintain case management of a caseload using active treatment principles. This includes family sessions when medically necessary.Provide therapy services to clients in individual, group, and family capacities.Submit all treatment documentation necessary for documentation of care in a timely and professional manner as outlined in the Policies and Procedures Manual. (See Progress Notes Policy)Participate as a member of multi-disciplinary team in developing therapeutic goals and interventions for individualized treatment plans, discharge planning, and aftercare recommendations. (See Individualized Treatment Plans/Master Treatment Plans and Discharge Summaries Policies)Maintain a high level of confidentiality.Provide service in a manner that is consistent with program philosophy and Code of Ethics. Model these behaviors always to participants and staff.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEMaster level therapist possessing current Montana license as an LCPC or LCSW or be license eligible, Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services Field. Must have experience and proficiency in working with adults and their families. Familiarity with word processing and computer concepts. Ability to perform managerial and training functions efficiently and within established time frames. Able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and exhibit diplomacy and tact.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSLicensed Addiction Counselor or license eligible within 90 days. Must maintain current certifications in Non-violent crisis intervention, CPR, and First Aid. Must have a valid Montana driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
