The OpportunityIn this full-time, on-site role, the Licensed Addiction Counselor serves as a core member of the interdisciplinary treatment team. This position provides direct clinical services to adults participating in PHP and IOP programming, utilizing evidence-based interventions and trauma-informed practices. The Licensed Addiction Counselor plays a critical role in assessment, treatment planning, clinical documentation, and ongoing coordination of care to support sustained recovery outcomes.
WhatYou Will Do at Healing Rock Recovery
- Provide individual and group counseling services for clients with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
- Complete comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, ASAM-aligned evaluations, and ongoing clinical reassessments.
- Develop, implement, and update individualized, recovery-oriented treatment plans in collaboration with clients and the treatment team.
- Facilitate psycho educational and process groups focused on relapse prevention, coping skills, emotional regulation, and recovery capital.
- Provide crisis intervention and clinical support as needed within the scope of licensure and program protocols.
- Collaborate closely with medical, psychiatric, case management, and peer support staff to ensure integrated, coordinated care.
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and case consultations.
- Support care transitions, including step-down planning, discharge preparation, and coordination with external providers and referral sources.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation in Kipu EMR in accordance with state regulations, payer requirements, and organizational standards.
- Uphold ethical standards, professional boundaries, and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
- Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) credential in the State of Montana, active and in good standing.
- Demonstrated experience providing clinical services in substance use disorder treatment settings.
- Working knowledge of ASAM criteria, evidence-based treatment modalities, and recovery-oriented systems of care.
- Strong clinical judgment, assessment skills, and ability to manage complex client presentations.
- Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and person-centered care.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary behavioral health environment.
- Proficiency with electronic medical record systems;
Kipu experience preferred but not required.

- Competitive salary range of $50,000 to $67,500 annually, commensurate with experience, licensure tenure, and role scope.
- Ability to work full-time, on-site in Billings, MT.
- Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) credential in the State of Montana, active and in good standing.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Behavioral Health, or a related field meeting Montana licensure requirements.
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience in substance use disorder treatment preferred.
- Demonstrated competence in assessment, treatment planning, and group facilitation.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, and relapse prevention strategies.
- Ability to maintain compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and Montana behavioral health regulations.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary treatment team.
