Pre‑Employment Requirements

All new employees must complete several pre‑employment requirements prior to starting.

Responsibilities
  • Provide anatomic pathology services under the clinical direction and supervision of a pathologist.
  • Perform gross examination of surgical pathology specimens and special procedures, including tumor triage and frozen section analysis.
  • Support quality control, regulatory readiness, and day‑to‑day operations of the pathology department.
  • Maintain and document surgical pathology protocols, specimen coding, and billing accuracy.
  • Photograph gross specimens and microscopic slides, and assist in the organization of anatomic pathology conferences.
  • Train and orient other laboratory staff in specimen preparation and analysis.
  • Participate in general laboratory administration, development of protocols, and budgeting input.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 4‑Year bachelor’s degree from an accredited Pathologist Assistant program.
  • Prior experience as a Pathologist Assistant preferred.
  • ASCP certification to be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and information retrieval.
  • Education, experience, and license combination that meets job tasks and responsibilities.
