Pre‑Employment RequirementsAll new employees must complete several pre‑employment requirements prior to starting.
Responsibilities- Provide anatomic pathology services under the clinical direction and supervision of a pathologist.
- Perform gross examination of surgical pathology specimens and special procedures, including tumor triage and frozen section analysis.
- Support quality control, regulatory readiness, and day‑to‑day operations of the pathology department.
- Maintain and document surgical pathology protocols, specimen coding, and billing accuracy.
- Photograph gross specimens and microscopic slides, and assist in the organization of anatomic pathology conferences.
- Train and orient other laboratory staff in specimen preparation and analysis.
- Participate in general laboratory administration, development of protocols, and budgeting input.
- 4‑Year bachelor’s degree from an accredited Pathologist Assistant program.
- Prior experience as a Pathologist Assistant preferred.
- ASCP certification to be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and information retrieval.
- Education, experience, and license combination that meets job tasks and responsibilities.
