Medical Technologist – LAB-GENERAL (Billings Clinic Main Campus)

Shift: Evening, Weekends (1230 – 2300)

Employment Status:
Part‑Time (0.5 – 0.74 FTE)

Hours per Pay Period: 0.50 (40 hours every two weeks, Non‑Exempt)

Starting Wage: $34.41 – $40.43 DOE

• Supports and models behaviors consistent with Billings Clinic’s mission, vision, values, code of business conduct and service expectations. Meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements. Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency standards as it relates to the environment, employee, patient safety or job performance.
• Collects and prepares test samples according to established procedures and policies. (Patient Care, Lab, Specimen Collection)
• Performs waived, moderate and high complexity specimen analysis according to established policies and procedures. (Patient Care, Lab, Specimen Analysis)
• Evaluates, interprets and validates test data prior to reporting. Identifies problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either corrects the problem or immediately notifies leadership. Adheres to and follows laboratory’s established policies and procedures whenever testing systems are not within the laboratory’s defined acceptable performance levels. • Maintains daily operations of the laboratory/department, including calibration and maintenance of equipment, adequate inventory, and adherence to quality control policies. Documents all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed, and corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from established performance specifications. • Utilizes performance improvement principles to assess and improve quality.
• Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

• Current or eligible for Montana State licensure as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or ability to become licensed.
• ASCP, AMT or equivalent certification considered.
