Operations Manager
Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is a leading power engineering consultant firm that provides engineering, system planning and studies, technical consultation, project management, surveying, environmental planning, commissioning/testing and construction services to electric utilities, energy developers and industrials throughout the U.S. Our experience includes system voltages from 4.16 kV through 765 kV.
ECI has an opening for an assistant project manager in Billings, MT. This position requires a basic understanding of contracts, change orders, invoicing, project work scopes, purchase orders and general engineering documents. Company‑specific on‑the‑job training for these items will be provided. The successful applicant will provide assistance and technical support to multiple project managers and other office staff, coordinating and executing daily administrative tasks;
document control, handling and filing, assembly of engineering documents, preparation of meeting agendas, meeting minutes, project reports, document tracking logs and purchase orders, invoicing, cost control. Additional duties include quality control documentation, safety documentation, processing and distributing project related documents, supporting client relations, and supporting project financial controls.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, business, management or related field, experience in technical writing, document management, and administrative experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organization and planning skills; ability to work in a team environment; commitment to quality and accuracy; and a willingness to meet fast‑paced project schedules. Experience in utility or merchant power industry a plus.

Occasional travel/driving is required; therefore, the successful applicant will be subject to ECI’s auto insurance carrier requirements.
