Job Summary
The Department of Health Sciences and Human Performance invites applications for the rank of Lecturer to teach beginning in the Fall of 2026. The successful candidate will teach classes within the Health & Human Performance K-12 Teaching option. Excellence in teaching is expected, both in the classroom and in advising and mentoring students outside the classroom. Opportunities to develop additional courses in the candidate’s specialty area exist.
The teaching load for a Lecturer is 12 credits for the academic year.

- Provide instruction in Health Enhancement (physical education and health courses)
- Perform academic advising
- Provide service to the department, college and university
- Perform faculty responsibilities to ensure compliance with NCATE accreditation
- Earned master's degree or bachelor's with substantial experience
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or Health Enhancement
- Previous experience teaching K-12 Physical Education or Health Enhancement
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
- Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching at the college/university level
- Experience with student advising
- Experience with NCATE accreditation
