Overview

This

Job Description establishes and describes the basic functions, requirements, reporting relationships, tasks and duties, and measures of performance for the functional position of Technician for Willards Garage.

BASIC FUNCTION: Perform high quality auto repair work in a timely and profitable manner to all vehicles.

Requirements

Education

  • Minimum – High School Diploma, equivalency, or equivalent work experience. ASE certifications (if you do not have them when hired, you will be able to get them during your employment).
  • Preferred:
    Technical School Training.

Experience

  • 1 to 3 years of auto service experience and certification in Automotive Service Technologies.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Must be able to read and comprehend instructions and technical materials.
  • Be able to organize work and multi-task across multiple activities.
  • Must be computer literate and have an aptitude for using other types of diagnostic and high-tech equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Reporting Relationships
  • The Technician reports to the Shop Foreman.
Tasks and Duties
  • Repairs all vehicles according to factory quality specs, holding vehicle returns to less than 5%.
  • Maintain a minimum of 60% efficiency.
  • Repairs all vehicles according to Book Rate Standards.
  • Works in cooperation and coordination with assigned Service Writer to ensure timely completion of the assigned vehicle.
  • Works in cooperation with the assigned Service Writer to communicate in a timely manner any issues or additional work needed to be performed on a customer’s vehicle.
  • Adhere to all company safety standards.
  • Attend meetings and required training sessions.
  • Take initiative to maintain and expand certifications.
  • Adhere to all Willards Garage policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary and communicated to you by the Shop Foreman and the Owner.
Measures of Performance
  • Maintain a good attendance and punctuality record.
  • Meets or exceeds Book Rate Standards.
  • Maintains proper Certifications.
  • Properly completes all required paperwork associated with each repair performed.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working area.
  • Participate in additional training as provided by the company.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures pertaining to personal behavior.
  • Cooperate with others, develops and practices teamwork.
