The Business Development Manager is accountable for delivering annual revenue targets across the UK, Norway, and the North Sea region, with potential expansion into Africa, for Process Diagnostics services. The role contributes directly to operating profit, working capital performance, and long-term growth aligned with company strategy. This is a front‑line, commercially driven business development role with a strong emphasis on new customer acquisition and market penetration.

The successful candidate will identify, pursue, and secure new opportunities across existing and growth markets, reactivate lapsed accounts, and increase regional market share. While maintaining selected key accounts, the primary focus is on hunting, building a robust pipeline, converting prospects into profitable business, and expanding the customer base.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver regional revenue and profitability targets across the UK, Norway, and North Sea, with potential expansion into Africa, operating with full commercial accountability.
  • Drive new business acquisition by proactively identifying, targeting, and securing new customers, expanding market share across both established and growth territories within the region.
  • Penetrate strategic accounts and reactivate dormant clients, building strong relationships with technical and commercial decision‑makers and positioning Tracerco as a preferred technical partner.
  • Spend 40 to 60 percent of time in the field, conducting regular customer visits, engaging decision‑makers, and maintaining strong market presence across the territory.
  • Own the full sales cycle from opportunity identification and qualification through proposal development, negotiation, and contract closure, ensuring timely and profitable conversion of pipeline into revenue.
  • Maintain a robust, qualified opportunity pipeline supported by accurate short‑term forecasting with a rolling three‑month view and longer‑term planning aligned with industry turnarounds, shutdowns, and major capital projects.
  • Develop and execute the regional business development plan aligned with company growth objectives and focused on sustainable long‑term expansion.
  • Effectively manage third‑party agents to expand regional reach and deliver commercial results.
  • Collaborate closely with operations and technical teams to ensure high‑quality proposal delivery and successful project execution, driving repeat business and customer satisfaction.
  • Work with senior leadership and the wider commercial team to support implementation of the energy transition strategy, identifying opportunities aligned with decarbonisation, efficiency optimisation, and evolving industry requirements.
  • Represent Tracerco at industry conferences and technical forums, strengthening brand visibility and generating qualified commercial opportunities.
  • Maintain the highest standards of safety, compliance, and ethical conduct in accordance with company policies, customer requirements, and applicable regulations.
Requirements
  • Significant experience within the oil and gas sector, ideally including petrochemicals and broader process industries.
  • Proven track record in business development and new customer acquisition, delivering measurable revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to understand customer business drivers, engage key decision‑makers, and apply value‑based selling in complex organisations.
  • Self‑driven, resilient, and results‑oriented, with the ability to operate autonomously and perform under commercial pressure.
  • Effective collaborator, able to work cross‑functionally with technical and operations teams to secure and execute business successfully.
  • Strong hunter mindset with disciplined sales execution and ownership of targets.
  • Ability to move decisively from prospecting to closing.
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity.
  • Willingness to travel 40 to 60% across the territory to maintain strong market presence.
  • High energy and commercially driven approach.
