About the RoleAs a Maintenance Surveyor you’ll deliver repairs and voids maintenance services for up to 1,100 properties across your region, collaborating with teams and contractors to provide customers with high‑quality, timely repairs. The role combines site visits and desk‑based work: assess customer homes, qualify repairs using HHSRS and schedule of rates, raise work orders on the bespoke Housing Management System, and update customers through to completion.
You’ll also uphold the Empty Homes (Voids) standard, identify and address hazards such as damp and mould, and help improve service efficiency.
- Visit customer homes to assess repair needs.
- Use knowledge of building construction, HHSRS, and schedule of rates to qualify repairs.
- Raise repairs on the Housing Management System and track to completion.
- Maintain Empty Homes (Voids) standards and deliver quality homes on time.
- Identify and remediate health‑related hazards such as damp and mould.
- Collaborate with contractors, housing teams, and internal colleagues to improve service efficiency and customer experience.
Spot salary: £40,200 per annum for applicants who fully meet the requirements of the post. Applicants who do not meet all requirements will start 5 % or 10 % below the spot salary. An essential user car allowance starts at £1,250 per annum.
About YouQualifications
- HNC in Building or equivalent qualification, or proven experience in maintenance and construction.
- Knowledge of building design, building fabrics, life cycles, contract performance and budget management.
- Strong customer focus, excellent communication skills and ability to interpret building legislation.
- Proficiency with operational property‑management software.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Successful candidates will be subject to a DBS check.
