Location:

Districtwide

Monday-Friday: 630am-3pm.
Works overtime as needed on HVAC Equipment

REPORTS TO:

Director of Facilities and Assistant Director of Facilities

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must Have a current Valid EPA-approved CFC Certificate and Journeyman’s Massachusetts HVAC‑R Licenses
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an HVAC Tech working in an industrial, commercial or school environment
  • OSHA 10 Certified
  • Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds
Knowledge/Skills
  • Has a solid understanding and experience in the upkeep and repair of gas-fired boilers, equipment and steam systems
  • Has solid understanding and experience working with Pneumatic control systems
  • Has solid understanding and experience with the upkeep and repair of steam boilers
  • Possesses broad knowledge of other trades, such as plumbing, sheet metal and electrical
  • Able to work alone and safely use ladders, lifts and other means as needed
  • Available to work extra hours and respond to emergencies as needed
  • Able to read prints and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Knowledge and ability to use hand and power tools
  • Collaborates well with others and contributes to a welcoming and positive work environment
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Be responsible for upkeep, repair, and installation of all HVAC‑R equipment and related systems, including pumps and pneumatic temperature control systems.
  • Working knowledge of BAS systems to have the ability to troubleshoot controls. Ability to work with an outside BAS controls contractor
  • Perform general and routine inspections for predictive and preventive HVAC systems
  • Keeps accurate inventory of all equipment and HVAC‑R resources
  • Make recommendations for improvements related to HVAC systems
  • In assistance with the Director of Facilities or their Designee determine if an outside vendor is needed to perform a service
  • Assisting and tracking of the digital PM program and the work order systems to make sure work is done in a timely manner
  • Work with outside vendors to ensure proper work on HVAC‑R is being performed
  • Safely perform the functions of this position while following and applying the proper safety guidelines
  • Performs additional HVAC‑related duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities or their Designee

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12-month work year
