Job DescriptionThe Role:
The Manufacturing Operator position is responsible for operating manufacturing equipment and/or various tasks such as inspecting, data collection, trimming, testing, fixturing, assembling and packaging. Completes other duties as assigned.
- Verifies product visually and takes corrective action when necessary. Ensures product is consistent with established specifications. Escalates quality issues as appropriate. Ensures highest possible product quality and adherence to the Entegris quality system, ISO and/or other standards. Ensures all product is packaged per packaging specifications.
- Performs various operations on the product in accordance with the work orders and information instructions.
- Finalizes all required paperwork thoroughly and timely (Production Reports, Rack Tickets, Labels, Component Sheets, Rework Sheets, SAP Transactions etc.). Maintains accurate attribute/variable charts of rejected materials. Conducts variable charts on manufacturing processes and count of good product as required.
- Completes miscellaneous tasks as assigned in support of the larger organization and production goals.
- Integrates on all key business processes to influence customer satisfaction, waste elimination, growth, cost effectiveness and product/system quality. Promotes and implements use of continuous improvement tools to eliminate non-value activities. Participates actively in continuous improvement activities such as 6s, Kaizen events, etc.
- Maintains a clean and safe work area. Wears required Personal Protective Equipment. Performs duties in a safe manner and observes approved safety procedures. Communicates potential hazards immediately to supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to read and understand documented processes and procedures.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to perform basic math computations and computer data entry.
- Ability to use measuring devices and hand/power tools.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb a ladder up to 15 ft. and walk and stand during entire shift.
- Ability to repetitively pinch and grasp hand tools, repetitively twist, bend and reach upward and handle small screws, washers, fasteners, etc.
Maintenance Technician, Calibration
Entegris is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician, Calibration to join our Facilities team, based in our Danbury, CT facility. In this role, you will perform routine and complex work related to the adjustment and calibration of test, measurement and diagnostic equipment. In addition, you will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
What Youll Do- Perform routine and complex work related to the adjustment and calibration of test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment.
- Retrieve, assemble, calibrate, and maintain various instruments and equipment that measure heat, light, voltage, amperage, weight, vacuum, etc.
- Supporting and sustaining manufacturing equipment through preventative and corrective maintenance within the SMG business unit in Danbury, including Specialty Gas and Engineered Specialty Coatings equipment.
- Update data management/tracking databases on a continuous basis to provide accurate and updated equipment and calibration records at all times.
- Carry out reliability and performance tests on equipment and make adjustments required to adhere to government, industry, and organizational standards.
- Scheduling calibrations around equipment owner and production schedule needs.
- Coordinating with third party vendors for calibration services and purchase of new calibrated sensors.
- Learn manufacturing processes and products from cross functional team including manufacturing and R&D.
- Investigate equipment failures and abnormalities, determine root cause, build corrective action plan and drive that plan to completion. This may include doing hands-on testing with toxic or hazardous materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED, Vocational School or Associate's degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment working on equipment calibration and maintenance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment while taking direct ownership of projects/tasks.
- Balancing calibration and work order schedules against production needs.
- Strong technical aptitude with a desire for hands on engineering work.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to approach challenges in a methodical and detail-oriented manner.
- Proficient experience with Microsoft Excel is required.
- Experience with SAP maintenance and Gage Trak is a plus.
- Experience with gas handling manifolds and equipment is a plus.
- Experience with orbital welding is a plus.
- Experience with Ariba for purchase order generation is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
