Job SummaryThis position will test opto‑mechanical systems in accordance with manufacturing documentation (assembly instructions, process documents, etc.) using a variety of hand tools, measuring devices, and test equipment. It is a 2nd Shift role (03:00 PM – 11:00 PM) with training on the 1st Shift for the first 8‑12 weeks before transitioning to the 2nd shift.
PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities
- Align and test optical systems using interferometry, alignment telescope, and optical inspection devices.
- Work with assembly and inspection tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, height gages, and dial indicators.
- Perform environmental testing of opto‑mechanical systems using thermal chambers and vibration machines.
- Document actions by completing checklists.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Perform general lab maintenance as necessary.
- High school diploma or 1‑2 years of relevant experience in a similar position/field (strongly preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a progressive manufacturing industry (preferred).
- Optical alignment and test experience desired.
- Assembly experience desired.
- Ability to read assembly drawings and process instructions.
- Experience using standard hand tools – Allen wrenches, screw drivers, torque wrenches, etc.
- Familiarity with computers as applicable to manufacturing.
- Solid, quality‑minded work ethic and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to foster effective collaborative group dynamics.
- Ability to stand for extended periods during most of the workday.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 45 pounds (frequency varies).
$49,300.00 – $65,700.00
Pay TransparencyThe anticipated salary range listed for this role is an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is determined based on location, education, training, work experience, key skills, and the type of position.
