Mechanical Design Engineer - Product Development
Join our Product Development team as a Mechanical Design Engineer
, working in close partnership with Nuvera
, Hyster‑Yale’s clean energy division advancing fuel cell and hydrogen technologies.
- Lead technology and product development projects for fuel cell stack components and assemblies.
- Develop and refine new product designs and prototypes that balance innovation, quality, cost, and delivery.
- Conduct engineering analyses to ensure function, reliability, manufacturability, and compliance.
- Collaborate across disciplines—mechanical, electrical, materials, and manufacturing—to integrate product solutions.
- Plan and manage project phases, coordinating work with internal and external partners.
- Support a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability within the engineering team.

- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (M.S. preferred) from an ABET‑accredited institution.
- 7+ years of experience in product development and design.
- Experience in mechanical design and analysis; familiarity with FEA, CFD, and 3D parametric modeling (Solid Works or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFM/DFA) and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Exposure to prototype and production processes such as machining, molding, forming, casting, and welding.
- Comfortable working both in the office and lab environments, including hands‑on testing and evaluation.
