Buyer III

ASMPT-NEXX products incorporate a diversity of mechanical, fluid, vacuum and automation subsystems working together to enable high speed wafer processing equipment.

As a Buyer III, you will be responsible for the procurement of parts and materials by developing sources of supply and monitoring supplier performance, verifying receipt of items, authorizing payment, and managing and controlling inventory.

The individual will be assessed on their ability to manage supplier commitments and performance, strengthen the current supply base, seek out new vendors and partners, and enable the outsourcing of key assemblies and modules.

• Maintain responsibility for the procurement of materials to support both production and aftermarket sales, as well as, for varying engineering projects
• Create and maintain purchase orders, expedite deliveries, verify all transactions and ensure proper financial authorization before the order is placed
• Track purchase orders and notify supply chain planning team of any material issues and shipment delays, while ensuring a timely resolution with the supplier
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels consistent with targeted inventory goals and production
• Strategically manage key supplier relations and contract manufacturers in support of the company’s outsourcing strategy, with particular responsibility for vendor quality, delivery, and cost
• Lead total cost of ownership reduction efforts and identify and drive best practices to achieve cost reductions
• Support and manage supplier negotiations, implementation of supplier agreements and integration of new suppliers
• Perform all other essential related duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field required
• 3 to 8 years' experience in purchasing, preferably in a high mix, low volume environment

• Work experience in capital equipment or semiconductor equipment manufacturing is a plus
• Prior experience with MRP systems, preferably M2M or SAP
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel
• Contract Manufacturing experience is beneficial
• Strong organizational and collaborative skills with attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task, take initiative, work independently, and use creative problem-solving skills
• Good communication and math skills is essential
• High-energy and goal-oriented demeanor is desirable
