AJ Chambers are partnered with a fantastic independent firm of accountants in their search for a Senior accountant to join their close‑knit team.

They are more than just accountants; they are trusted advisors to a diverse range of clients, from sole traders to companies with turnovers up to £5–6 million. This firm prides itself on delivering personalised, high‑quality accounting, auditing, and taxation services. They are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Accountant to join their dedicated team of professionals. You'll manage a varied portfolio of clients, providing comprehensive accounting and tax services, and play a pivotal role in mentoring junior staff.

• Client Portfolio Management: Oversee a diverse client base, including owner‑managed businesses, consultants, and individuals requiring tax return services.
• Accounts & Taxation: Prepare financial statements and tax returns for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
• Mentorship: Support and guide junior team members, reviewing their work and fostering their professional growth.
• Practice Management: Engage in budgeting, work‑in‑progress tracking, billing, and timesheet management.
• Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous enhancement of the accounting practices and client services.

• Competitive Salary: Up to £50,000, commensurate with experience.
• Professional Development: Support for ACCA studies tailored to your needs; applications from QBE candidates and ACCA finalists nearing qualification are welcomed.

• Qualifications: ACCA qualified, finalist, or QBE with substantial experience in a general practice setting.
• Experience: Proficient in preparing accounts and tax returns for a variety of clients; audit experience is not required.
• Skills: Strong organisational abilities, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
• Team Player: Collaborative mindset with a willingness to support and mentor colleagues.
