Job Summary

Clean, maintain, and support the cleanliness of the facility, operating equipment, and participating in building maintenance tasks. Provide a healthy environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities
  • Perform moderately complex custodial tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and cleaning windows and fixtures.
  • Sanitize and disinfect surfaces and equipment per training.
  • Operate floor maintenance equipment such as strippers, buffers, vacuums, and extractors.
  • Restock supplies and maintain inventory records.
  • Assist in inspections of buildings and equipment for cleanliness and needed repairs.
  • Perform minor building and equipment repairs and installations.
  • Maintain custodial equipment in good working order.
  • Cooperate with disaster response or Continuity of Operations (COOP) duties as assigned.
  • Complete documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
Qualifications
  • Six months custodial or environmental services work experience, preferably in a nursing home, hospital, residential facility, or hotel.
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods, standards, and sanitation regulations.
  • Knowledge of infection control principles and methods.
  • Knowledge of inventory control principles.
  • Skills in using custodial equipment and handling chemicals safely.
  • Skills in using and maintaining building maintenance tools.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand/walk on hard floors for extended periods, and work irregular hours.
Requirements

Background checks, pre‑employment drug screen, and registry checks including CANRS, Nurse Aid, Medication Aide, and Employee Misconduct. Compliance with HHSC immunization policy. Candidates 18+ years old; certain applicants 21+. Male 18‑25 must register with Selective Service.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $2,694.70 – $3,269.08 per month (TEXAS‑A‑08).
Full‑time, regular, non‑exempt role with monthly pay, 100% paid employee health insurance for eligible employees, defined benefit pension, and generous time‑off benefits.

Additional Information

The position may require overtime and/or extended hours. Travel up to 20%. Not eligible for telework.
