The Director of Surgical Services is responsible for planning, organizing and directing of the operations and staff (clinical and non-clinical) of the Surgical Services Department, Anesthesia, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit and Central Sterile);
The employee will participate in business development activities, while providing overall direction and management, operational planning, administrative coordination and implementation of programs and activities related to perioperative services. This position may be needed to act as Interim Director for hospitals as requested. This position will report to the corporate office with travel required as needed. All duties will be fulfilled consistent with the mission of Quorum Health.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and support the Perioperative performance improvement program in an assigned hospital.
  • Assume responsibility for the consultative development and implementation of programs and clinical initiatives, while assisting in evaluation of program processes at a hospital.
  • Provide on-site consultative services as needed for Corporate’s Surgical Services or programs for other assigned hospitals.
  • Identify and assist to implement supply savings and standardization opportunities in surgical services.
  • Provides coaching, mentoring, support and consultation to hospital managers, colleagues, and staff; serves as role model in professional behavior and leadership skills, problem-solving ability and interpersonal skills
  • Work collaboratively with others at Corporate to facilitate and improve our surgery programs quality of service.
  • Assist with strategic planning, market analysis, business development, growth and quality improvement plans for QHC hospitals regarding surgical services programs.
  • Observing professional ethics in maintaining confidential information concerning the personal, financial and medical or employment status of patients and staff of Quorum Health.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with corporate and hospital personnel, staff and physicians, to ensure a continued focus and improved operations.
  • Research and develop evidence-based practice standards, best practice criteria and outcomes metrics for QHC hospitals.
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring and developing others in a variety of key skills including: relationship management, project management, staffing and execution.
  • Provide consultation and education on AORN Guidelines and Regulatory Requirements related to Surgical Services.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
