Manufacturing Engineer – Fluid Power

Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Manufacturing Engineer – Fluid Power role in Biddeford, ME. • Design, develop, and improve manufacturing processes related to hydraulic and pneumatic (fluid power) systems and components.
• Provide technical support for production teams, troubleshooting equipment, tooling, and process issues to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement process improvements that increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
• Develop and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and standard operating procedures.
• Evaluate and select tooling, fixtures, and equipment to support manufacturing of fluid power assemblies.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives for quality or performance issues.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) efforts, ensuring manufacturability and smooth production launches.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze production data and metrics to identify trends and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
• Train production personnel on new processes, equipment, and best practices.

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in fluid power systems (hydraulics and pneumatics) within a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, process optimization, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency in reading engineering drawings, schematics, and fluid power diagrams.
• Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing documentation practices is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
