Manual Machinist

Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Direct Hire Manual Machinist role in Biddeford, ME. • Set up, operate, and maintain manual machining equipment, including lathes, mills, grinders, and related tools.
• Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to produce precision parts.
• Perform manual machining operations to meet tight tolerances and quality standards.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Make machine adjustments as needed to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and quality.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company safety policies.
• Perform routine maintenance on machines and promptly report equipment issues or malfunctions.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to meet production schedules and resolve challenges.
• Accurately document work performed, measurements taken, and any deviations from specifications.
• Follow all safety procedures and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or apprenticeship is preferred.
• Proven experience as a Manual Machinist in a manufacturing or job shop environment.
• Strong ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools and manual machining equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
