Are you currently enrolled in a Respiratory Therapy degree program and interested in gaining hands on experience?

The Respiratory Therapy - Student position is designed for students currently in the 1st year of their degree program.

Hands on Experience
  • Work in a clinical setting under the supervision of experienced respiratory therapists.
Skills Development / Clinical Training
  • Build confidence in Patient assessment, treatment administration and communication with both patients and healthcare teams
  • Work with patients, assist with treatments, monitor patient responses, and learn how to properly utilize respiratory equipment.
  • Preparation for Licensure - Clinical experience is pivotal in meeting the requirements for respiratory therapist licensure and certification.

Student RTs are Per Diem roles

Summary

The Student - Respiratory Therapy role works under the direction of the Manager of Respiratory Care Services, the Charge Therapists and Respiratory Therapists in providing all medically sanctioned therapeutic, supportive and monitoring modalities to patients as prescribed. This role will learn new equipment and procedures and deliver high quality care while adapting to technical advances in the field.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Education:

    Active enrollment in a Respiratory Therapy program is required.
  • License/

    Certifications:

    Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
  • Experience:

    Three to five hundred clinical hours as a student preferred.
