Summary:
The Emergency Department Patient Access Specialist is responsible for accurately identifying patients and conducting detailed registration interviews including capturing demographic, insurance and contact information in a high volume, 24/7 Emergency Department. Patient Access Specialists are exposed to varying levels of acuity, disease and sensitive patient and visitor situations impacting populations of all ages and backgrounds.
Per diem - flexible and varied schedule. Availability for 3-4 shifts per month required. Shift days and times vary and may include first, second, or third shift

- Identify patients and conduct registration interviews, capturing demographic, insurance and contact information in a high-volume ED setting.
- Interact with patients and visitors in a professional, courteous manner and manage sensitive situations in a fast-paced environment.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Certifications:
N/A
Minimum of six months experience in healthcare.
Computer and data entry experience is required with Microsoft Word, e-mail, and internet communication, as well as the ability to work accurately and effectively with electronic systems.
