Commercial/Office Division

We are looking for an experienced people manager join to a company as an Operations Manager. This role will focus on managing a growing team, providing the highest-level operations and strategic support and aiding with general business improvement within the company.

Based in Bicester, this is an office-based role where you will be working Monday to Thursday 08:45-17:30 and Friday 08:45-16:30. Offering £35,000-£40,000 per annum dependent on experience.

Duties of the Operations Manager
  • Lead, support, and develop the Planning Coordinators responsible for scheduling engineers nationwide.
  • Oversee accurate and efficient scheduling, ensuring the right engineers are deployed to the correct sites.
  • Identify training gaps among engineers and elevate or support solutions as needed.
  • Provide day-to-day coaching, guidance, and performance support to team members.
  • Offer high-level operational support to the Head of Internal Operations.
  • Analyse recurring issues, identify root causes, and implement long-term solutions.
  • Review processes and systems, highlight inefficiencies, and recommend or implement improvements.
  • Use operational technology and scheduling tools confidently, supporting the team's adoption of new systems or changes.
  • Foster a positive, engaged, and collaborative working environment within the department.
  • Provide telephone/email support to field-based staff where required.
  • Contribute to the continuous business improvement process and to the meeting of business objectives.
Personal Attributes
  • Previous People Management experience.
  • Computer literate and confident using Word, Excel, Outlook, CRM’s and Operational systems.
  • Quick learner picking up new technology as required.
  • Self‑motivated, able to work on your own initiative.
  • Confident in leading a team.
  • Experience managing scheduling and field staff.
  • Interested in your team’s progress and development.
  • Proactive in your position, keen to be involved in all levels.

The company also offers 25 days plus bank holidays with increased days up to 30 days with service.
