HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Truck Technician (Erith)

Salary: £45,760 - £55,(Apply online only) per annum plus overtime

Hours:

Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:30, plus one in two Saturdays, 05:00 to 13:00
Job Type: Full-time, permanent

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated HGV Technician to join our team in Erith.

This role offers excellent remuneration, regular overtime opportunities, comprehensive training support, and clear pathways for career progression. You will work on modern trucks and trailers, diagnosing faults and honing your skills through manufacturer-led training and on-site assistance, all within a stable and supportive working environment.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out major and minor repairs on HGVs, trailers and ancillary equipment
Complete scheduled servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance checks
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools and schematics
Accurately prepare paperwork, job cards and service records within set deadlines
Support roadside and workshop breakdown repairs as required
Ensure all work complies with DVSA safety and compliance standards
Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment

Skills and Qualifications

Essential

Level 3 NVQ, IMI or City & Guilds qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
Proven experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Truck Technician
Strong fault-finding skills with the ability to work to DVSA standards
Full UK driving licence

Desirable

Experience with vehicle diagnostics, electrical systems and trailer maintenance
Familiarity with manufacturer diagnostic platforms and vehicle telematics
LOLER or BPW training, or willingness to undertake such training
