Extension Architecture & Interiors Ltd is a well‑established and growing architectural studio specialising in residential projects across London. With over 16 years’ experience, we offer a full turn‑key service for projects of all sizes, but we are looking for someone that has completed at least 30 planning residential applications in the UK ( MINIMUM). Planning consultant backgrounds are also welcome.
We are looking for a well‑organised and enthusiastic Architectural Designer to join our Planning team. You should be confident working with clients, have a strong understanding of UK planning policies, and be comfortable managing your own planning applications. You will work closely with experienced architects from RIBA Stages 0-4, gaining hands‑on experience in planning applications, detailed design and turning concepts into built reality.
Proficiency in Revit is essential. Experience with Sketch Up and/or Enscape will be an advantage. Technical stage 4 - recommended (could be trained).
Key Responsibilities- Prepare Revit and AutoCAD drawings for planning applications.
- Manage and assist with planning applications from initial brief through to submission.
- Conduct planning research and apply relevant policies to your designs.
- Collaborate with the wider team on concept development and project delivery.
- Communicate clearly with clients and stakeholders, using strong presentation and people skills.
- Take ownership of your own projects, showing a strong sense of responsibility and initiative.
- Ensure deadlines are met and provide regular progress updates.
- Degree in Architecture or a related field (RIBA / CIAT accredited preferred).
- Proven experience in submitting at least 30 planning applications in the UK (essential).
- Minimum 3–6 years’ experience in architectural roles, ideally focused on RIBA Stages 0–3.
- Strong working knowledge of Revit (essential).
- Experience with Sketch Up and/or Enscape (desirable).
- Right to work in the UK (essential).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Well‑organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
- High attention to detail and a proactive approach.
- Able to work independently as well as within a team.
