  • Encourage healthy routines around waking, eating, communication and activities.

  • Mentor and guide Day Coaches and Senior Coaches through challenging moments.

  • Step in during incidents, modelling calm and therapeutic responses.

  • Support children who are non-verbal, sensory-seeking or struggling to regulate.

  • Maintain clear records and provide accurate handovers to night staff and managers.

  • Work with therapists, teachers and external professionals when required.

  • Drive children to appointments, school runs and activities (full UK driving licence essential).

  • Background supporting young people with learning disabilities, autism, ADHD, epilepsy, Down syndrome, global developmental delay and fetal alcohol syndrome.

  • Calm and emotionally steady when children become dysregulated or distressed.

  • Understanding of sensory needs, communication barriers and impulsivity linked to learning disabilities.

  • Trauma-informed and attachment-aware approach that brings reassurance and consistency.

  • Able to coach, support and develop less experienced staff.

  • Physically fit, alert and reliable.

  • Must have Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).

  • Minimum 3 years in children's residential care, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.

  • Full UK driving licence required due to rural location and transport needs.

  • 36 days of specialist training each year.

  • Private healthcare and 24/7 GP access.

  • Gym stipend and wellbeing package.
