Job Description

Assistant Store Director:
Sales & Merchandising. Under the direction of the Store Director, the Assistant Store Director of Sales & Merchandising will support execution of the front‑of‑house priorities within the store. They will be responsible for maintaining selling‑floor service and merchandising standards to drive sales and customer experience. The role coaches direct associate reports proactively and collaboratively to ensure all selling‑floor associates meet key performance indicators and act as strong brand ambassadors.

In stores above 17MM, this role is split into two positions: one overseeing Apparel and one overseeing Footwear & Center Core.

Primary Job Functions
  • Be responsible for achievement of overall department sales, controllable profit, and payroll management.
  • Maintain merchandising, sizing, and replenishment standards within area of responsibility.
  • Execute merchandising directives as required within area of responsibility.
  • Drive conversion, AOV, ROV, loyalty, credit, and all other selling‑related KPIs of the associate team.
  • Provide leadership and motivation to the team in achieving sales goals and driving omni‑channel growth and execution of company initiatives.
  • Develop and retain direct reports, ensuring their readiness for increased responsibilities and building an internal bench of upwardly mobile talent to fill critical positions.
  • Participate in and support training for new company programs, procedures, and technologies.
  • Consistently model and coach behaviors that exceed key performance indicators.
  • Act as the key store point of contact for the District Merchandising Manager.

You Also Have
  • College Associate diploma;
    Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of management experience with comparable volume and/or proven track record of success managing a selling workforce and achieving results.
  • Proficiency in utilizing available technology including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Proven sales track record and results‑driven approach.
  • Time‑management skills and comfort managing multiple projects with shifting priorities.
  • Ability to deliver a high standard of customer service and build exceptional customer relationships.
  • Thorough knowledge of the fashion industry and a passion for sharing your expertise.
  • Ability to act promptly in routine situations and create a clear plan of action leading to a positive result in the customer’s eyes.
  • Ability to operate equipment such as radios, POS registers, ticket scanners, and sensor removers.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Compensation

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $69,000 and $73,000 per year; base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.

The total compensation package may also include other elements, including a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits), dependent on the position offered.
