, you play a direct and essential part in that mission. Every device you assemble, calibrate, and validate becomes a critical component in the systems our customers rely on to drive scientific breakthroughs. The Device Technician II is someone who thrives on hands‑on precision work, enjoys solving technical challenges, and takes pride in building equipment that must perform flawlessly in high‑stakes laboratory environments.
You’ll work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑moving engineering‑driven culture, contributing your expertise in electromechanical assembly and precision liquid handling to help us deliver the next generation of High Res technology. Your craftsmanship isn’t just about building devices — it’s about enabling progress in global science.
- Perform electrical and mechanical assemblies using detailed work instructions, schematics, and engineering drawings
- Assemble, calibrate, and test small liquid handling components, including pipetting tools and fluidic subsystems
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and fluidic issues during builds and testing
- Ensure assemblies meet performance specifications and quality standards
- Inspect parts and assemblies for defects and compliance
- Support engineering with prototype builds, improvements, and documentation updates
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Maintain inventory of job materials and components
- Document build and test results accurately in required systems
- Up to 10% domestic travel
- Strong attention to detail
- Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience preferred
- 3–6 years of electrical and mechanical assembly experience
- Direct experience working with small liquid handling systems, pipetting mechanisms, or precision fluidics required
- Experience calibrating and validating liquid handling performance is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced production and engineering environment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, oral and written
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Knowledge of Jira and PLM/ERP systems is a plus
- Ability to work in tight spaces and lift up to 40 lbs
- Valid driver’s license required
We design and build innovative robotic systems and laboratory devices used by pharmaceutical and biotech companies and academic research laboratories. Our work helps scientists accelerate drug discovery, high throughput genotyping, siRNA screening, next-generation sequencing sample prep, biorepository science and molecular diagnostics with highly flexible, expandable, and modular integrated systems, bench‑top devices and consumables that are easily configured (and reconfigured) to create research environments conducive to achieving breakthrough results.
