The Archdiocese of Detroit seeks a dedicated, practicing Catholic educator to serve as a Second Grade Teacher at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs in Beverly Hills, Michigan.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging, faith-integrated instruction
in core subjects (reading, mathematics, science, social studies, and language arts) aligned with Archdiocesan and state standards, while illuminating knowledge with the light of faith. - Provide religious education
that communicates the fullness of the Gospel, including Scripture, sacraments, and Catholic doctrine. - Foster a Catholic school environment
characterized by gospel values, promoting justice, holiness, and the development of each student's personality.
Assess student progress
, differentiate instruction for diverse learners, and collaborate with parents, staff, and parish community to support growth. - Participate in school prayer, liturgies, and sacramental life
, bearing witness to faith through daily life and modeling Christian commitment. - Maintain classroom management
rooted in respect for the human person, while integrating Catholic social teaching and moral formation. - Engage in ongoing professional development
, including formation in Catholic educational philosophy.
- Active, practicing Catholic
in good standing with the Church, committed to its teachings and able to fulfill the special requirements of a Catholic school. - Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field;
Michigan teaching certification (or eligibility) preferred. - Demonstrated experience teaching young children, with pedagogical skills to realize the school's formative project.
- Strong understanding of Catholic identity, excellent communication skills, creativity, and ability to work collaboratively in a diverse school community.
- Background check and Protecting God’s Children training required, per Archdiocesan policies.
