Overview

The Asset Protection team is dedicated to maintaining a secure and safe environment for our stores and corporate offices. We provide training programs to equip staff with the knowledge to respond to safety and security challenges. Our protection services include access control protocols, CCTV monitoring for real-time surveillance and incident support. We collaborate with local law enforcement to enhance safety efforts and response capabilities.

The team prioritizes proactive risk management through regular assessments and mitigation strategies. We work with store teams and departments to establish a thorough process for new store openings, ensuring security measures are integrated from the outset.

The Opportunity:

As the Senior Regional Asset Protection Manager for the West Region, you will implement comprehensive Asset Protection measures for the stores within your purview. This includes overseeing safety protocols and shortage control programs, and you will demonstrate exceptional communication across all organizational levels, fostering partnerships with store management, the Asset Protection team, and corporate stakeholders.

You will lead and develop a team of field Asset Protection Managers, Supervisors, and Specialists, ensuring they are equipped to execute their roles. In collaboration with the Asset Protection team, local store management, and the Inventory Control department, you will research and reconcile shrink, proactively addressing discrepancies. Your involvement in cycle count reconciliation will uphold inventory accuracy between annual physical inventories.

You will liaise with Corporate Internal Control and Human Resources to address concerns during store audits and internal investigations, promoting accountability. Your primary objective is to ensure the physical protection of stores, prioritizing safety of employees and customers and protection of merchandise. Conduct bi-quarterly visits to stores in your region to assess the effectiveness of Asset Protection strategies and implement improvements.

The Role:

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of Asset Protection and operational performance to identify areas impacting shrink and inventory control. Collaborate with the Asset Protection team, store management, and corporate partners to formulate and execute strategic action plans to optimize performance.
  • Deliver monthly metrics, Asset Protection reports, and cycle count reconciliation findings to store management, Regional Vice Presidents, and the Director of Asset Protection, ensuring stakeholders are informed for decisive decision-making.
  • Utilize exception-based reporting and daily analytics to identify, investigate, and resolve internal policy or procedure violations in partnership with the Director of Asset Protection and Human Resources.
  • Manage the asset protection timeline for new store projects and renovations, coordinating budgets and setting expectations for asset protection vendors to ensure secure launches.
  • Conduct detailed diagnoses and generate reports on offsite warehouses to support storage optimization for new store openings.
  • Maintain professional relationships with Asset Protection industry stakeholders and engage with law enforcement to foster collaboration.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, maintain communication records, and securely retain evidence, ensuring data accuracy and adherence to guidelines.
  • Develop and communicate monthly communications to stores, corporate, and AP teams regarding main causes of shrink, ORC activity, local theft trends, and recovery tactics to educate and achieve safety goals.
  • Participate in internal regional conference calls and contribute to regional newsletters.
  • Oversee and manage all security elements for HOP events, coordinating with corporate departments to implement robust safety measures.
  • Facilitate fire safety training programs for staff at assigned stores, covering fire prevention, emergency protocols, extinguisher use, and evacuation procedures; ensure compliance with local fire safety regulations and maintain safety equipment.
  • Provide support and training to retail locations as needed.
  • Provide on-call support for alarm responses within designated regions; maintain alarm systems, EAS, card access, and CCTV equipment across locations.
  • Maintain all aspects of physical security in the assigned area.
  • Oversee budgets and financial controls to ensure fiscal responsibility in the region.
  • Train, develop, and supervise AP teams within the region.
  • 40% of time is dedicated to travel, including travel to locations within the region, large-scale special events, new store openings, and escalated security matters.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
