AboutThe Role
We are seeking a data‑driven and analytical Senior Analyst to join our Strategy and Analytics team. This role is perfect for a professional with strong quantitative skills and a passion for streaming media who wants to directly influence content decisions through data insights. You will be responsible for analyzing viewer behavior, measuring content performance, and providing actionable recommendations that shape our content slate and platform strategy as we launch and scale Wonder.
This is a unique opportunity to build the data analytics function at a mission‑driven streaming platform from the ground up. Your insights will directly influence what content we produce, how we acquire and retain subscribers, how we optimize our marketing investments, and how we scale Wonder profitably. You’ll work closely with creative, marketing, finance and executive teams, seeing the immediate impact of your analysis on real business decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Content Performance Analysis:
Track and analyze viewership metrics across our streaming platform, including completion rates, engagement patterns, audience retention (hours viewed, repeat views), and content discovery to evaluate the success of original productions and licensed content. - Streaming Metrics and Unit Economics:
Evaluate key streaming platform metrics including Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), subscriber churn rates, retention cohorts, payoff periods, and customer lifetime value (LTV) to optimize marketing spend and inform content investment decisions. - Greenlight and Content Valuation Support:
Partner with finance and production teams to assess the ROI of content slate and individual titles before greenlight and content investments, providing data‑driven inputs on title performance across distribution windows (Streaming, Theatrical Box Office, and Home Video). - Competitive Benchmarking:
Monitor industry trends and competitor streaming platforms, analyzing their content strategies, release patterns, retention tactics, and performance to identify best practices and market opportunities. - Audience Insights and Segmentation:
Conduct deep‑dive analyses on viewer demographics, preferences, viewing hours, and behavior to identify audience segments and inform content acquisition, marketing and programming strategies that maximize engagement and minimize churn. - A/B Testing and Experimentation:
Design and analyze experiments related to content presentation, user interface, promotional strategies and recommendation algorithms to optimize user experience, viewing hours and retention metrics. - Planning:
Design and deploy methodologies that inform content green lighting, audience forecasting and performance benchmarking. - Reporting and Visualization:
Build comprehensive dashboards and reports for leadership, production teams and content executives, translating complex data into clear, actionable insights that drive decision‑making around CAC optimization, churn reduction and content ROI.
