The campus itself is a breathtaking 70,000-square-foot facility celebrating the classic and the modern and has garnered six architectural awards. The restored building features the original 1933 Beverly Hills Post Office (on the National Register of Historic Places), which serves as the theater's dramatic yet welcoming lobby, and includes the contemporary 500-seat, state-of-the-art Bram Goldsmith Theater; the 150-seat Lovelace Studio Theater, dedicated education wing for GRoW @ The Wallis, including an enclosed outdoor education courtyard, and a inviting open-air plaza for family, community and other performances.
ABOUTTHE JOB
The HR Generalist supports all aspects of HR operations, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and HR systems management. A highly visible representative of The Wallis, the HR Generalist is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships, serving as a business partner to managers, and a resource to all staff. The ideal candidate is personable, highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling confidential information with discretion.
This role demands excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills, as well as technical knowledge of HR competencies. The candidate should be proactive, flexible, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. A passion for the arts is highly desirable, aligning with The Wallis’ mission to foster a dynamic and inclusive workplace culture that supports both its employees and its creative goals.

Recruitment & Talent Attraction:
- Support recruitment strategies and efforts for all departments: includes talent attraction and acquisition, interview scheduling, interviews & selection, reference checks, background checks and job offer letters as needed;
- Create or edit job descriptions, as needed. Update physical requirements for job descriptions, as needed;
- Post jobs and advertisements for roles for assigned recruitments.
Employee Orientation & On-Boarding:
- Provide employee orientation, and on-boarding, and training including harassment prevention training, and new hire orientation for employees;
- Responsible to create and maintain orientation documents;
- Update and maintain self-onboarding documents in the HRIS system (annually & as needed);
Benefit Enrollment & Deductions:
- Send Benefits Enrollment Information (Medical, Dental, Vision and 401(k) to all eligible employees post new-hire;
- Process/Enter benefits deductions with holdings in the HRIS system;
- Administer the communications during annual Open Enrollment period (Oct/Nov);
HRIS Entry & Compliance (Administrative Records):
- Working with Finance, manage, maintain and improve the Human Resources Information System to ensure all records and personnel information is compliant and complete and employees are classified and paid correctly;
- HRIS Data Entry for all employees including new hires (self-onboarding) and activation, employment eligibility verification (i-9s);
- Manage life cycle of on-call stagehands (hiring, employment eligibility, activate and de-activate profiles);
