Job Title:

Gymnastics Instructor, Recreation Level Program

Objective: To provide instruction to toddlers and children in the recreational gymnastics program that aligns with the mission of Beverly Hills Gymnastics Center.

Organizational Relationships:
  • Reports to:

    Program Director, CFL
  • Directs:
    Participants, parent/teacher communication, lesson planning
General Statement of Duties:

The Recreational Coach will teach programs for an all-girls program, including ages 2 years to teens, covering Tots, Rollers, Twisters, Super Tots, and USAG Levels 1-3 instruction.

Examples of Work:
  • Plan and develop new gymnastics-related programs and services.
  • Prepare lesson plans for recreational lessons in conjunction with the head instructor.
  • Attend relevant meetings.
  • Incorporate virtue and character education into classes.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records.
  • Monitor equipment for safety and maintenance needs.
  • Complete accident reports when necessary.
  • Assist in training and orienting new staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to work with children aged 2-12.
  • Understanding of gymnastics and USAG progressions for levels 1-3 and Xcel levels.
  • Excellent parent/teacher communication and student retention skills.
  • Creative thinking in programming and instruction.
  • Effective communication, rapport-building, teamwork, and good judgment.
  • Proficiency with technology to enhance the program.
Experience and Training:
  • High school diploma preferred; high school students with gymnastics experience encouraged to apply.
  • One to three years of experience working with children in recreation or instruction.
  • USAG Certification preferred, with willingness to earn certification within one year.

Compensation:
Based on experience.
