Position Summary

The Sales and Events Manager (Food & Beverage) is responsible for overseeing daily customer service operations and driving sales growth within the customer base. This role bridges customer support and sales, ensuring customer satisfaction, retention, and revenue targets achieved through effective team management, process optimization, and customer-focused strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all web, phone, catering orders, special orders, catering inquiries and events onsite and offsite.
  • Provide thoughtful recommendations based on guest needs and budget.
  • Build strong client relationships to drive repeat business and referrals.
  • Follow up with customers ensuring their expectations were met (Follow-up Phone calls, Thank You Cards, etc.).
  • Oversee daily workflow across multiple channels (phone, email, chat, and social media).
  • Manage POS system as it relates to order progress for both internal and customer notifications i.e., orders received, fulfilled, shipped, tracking information, and order delivery.
  • Handle escalated customer issues and ensure timely, professional resolution.
  • Directly manage high-level customer issues, providing swift and professional solutions that prioritize retention.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and persuade effectively.
  • Manage client relationships and act as a liaison between the client and the managers for each business division.
  • Identify growth opportunities: corporate partnerships, events, holiday offerings and recurring accounts.
Operational & Administrative Management
  • Maintain accurate records of proposals, contracts, deposits, payments, and order details.
  • Working with Public Relations and Social Media to monitor Yelp, Google, Uber Eats, Postmates, Owner, Instagram, You Tube, Tik Tok, and Facebook questions/comments.
  • Process all orders with accompanying paperwork and deliver them to the appropriate departments.
  • Prepare quotes, proposals, and invoices; follow up to convert leads into confirmed orders.
  • Assist in maintaining seasonal menus, pricing updates, and promotional offerings.
  • Plan and oversee all aspects of catering orders: menu selections, quantities, rentals, staffing, timing, and special requests.
  • Coordinate with kitchen, production, and retail teams to ensure flawless execution.
  • Create timelines, delivery schedules, and detailed notes for staff.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors (rentals, florals, venues, etc.) and third-party delivery services as needed.
  • Lead on-site execution for production runs, catered events, tastings, and activations.
  • Supervise staff and ensure hospitality standards are met or exceeded.
  • Troubleshoot service issues in real time and maintain a calm, guest-focused presence.
  • Collaborate with marketing, operations, and leadership teams to align customer experience and sales initiatives
  • Work with leadership to forecast staffing and production needs.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and production managers to plan upcoming events.
  • Coordinate with managers to ensure all equipment, serving ware, packaging and shipping supplies are stocked and organized.
  • Develop and refine ordering, catering and event SOPs to support growth.
  • Analyze customer feedback and sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to company policies, service standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Work with Financial Controller to track performance metrics including catering sales, costs, and profit margins
  • Maintain budget oversight for orders/events and ensure cost-effective execution.
  • Analyze results and recommend improvements to increase revenue and efficiency.
  • Train and supervise staff, servers, and support team members.
  • Create staff schedules for orders and events, managing timecards as needed.
  • Foster a positive, hospitality-forward team culture.
  • Support all kitchen and production operations with clear communication and planning.
Skills & Qualifications
  • At least 3+ years of experience in customer service management, sales, catering, event management, hospitality, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • High level of empathy, patience, and resilience, especially when managing high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a strong sales orientation
  • Ability to analyze performance metrics and make data-driven decisions
  • Proficiency with Google Suite, CRM systems, POS/ordering systems, and customer service tools (training provided).
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple events and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 40 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time.
