About Us

Roseberry Care is a warm and welcoming community with over 1,500 dedicated professionals across 27 homes—from Morpeth to Milton Keynes. We support nearly 1,200 residents, offering everything from elderly and dementia care to care for younger adults with neurological or physical disabilities.

At the heart of everything we do?
Kindness, inclusivity, and putting people first—always.

Your Role

As a Head Cook you will be the senior kitchen team member responsible for preparing, cooking, and overseeing the presentation of meals in accordance with nutritional standards, dietary requirements, and food safety regulations. You will be responsible for supervising other kitchen staff and help manage the overall workflow of the kitchen.

With just 26 residents, our Care Home offers a warm and welcoming environment where catering is both rewarding and manageable. As our Cook, you’ll have the opportunity to prepare homely, nutritious meals with the time and flexibility to focus on quality rather than volume. The smaller scale of our service means you can easily accommodate individual preferences, dietary needs, and special occasions, creating a dining experience that truly enhances residents’ wellbeing.

This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys cooking with care and taking pride in making a real difference every day.

You’ll be responsible for:
  • Prepare and cook a variety of meals, often from a set menu or dietary plan
  • Ensure meals are well‑presented, nutritious, and meet specific dietary needs (e.g. low‑sodium, diabetic‑friendly, pureed diets)
  • Oversee daily operations in the kitchen
  • Train and support less experienced staff as needed
  • Assist with menu development in line with budget and nutritional guidelines
  • Follow strict hygiene, health, and food safety standards
  • Liaise with care or service managers about dietary requirements
What We’re Looking For:
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Professional Cookery or equivalent preferred
  • Good knowledge of food hygiene regulations (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Food Safety Certificate)
  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience in Cooking in a similar setting
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively
  • Team leadership and communication skills
What You’ll Get in Return:
  • Supportive, friendly team environment
  • Genuine career progression across 27 care homes
  • Employee Assist Programme for mental health & well‑being support
  • Go the Extra Mile (GEM) Awards – celebrating your amazing work
  • Employee Of The Month – Appreciating our employees
  • Flex Earn – access your earnings early for any extra shifts worked
  • Refer a Friend Scheme – earn £200 for every successful referral

Ready to Make a Difference?

If you’re passionate about care, proud of your profession, and want to be part of something special—
we’d love to hear from you.

Apply today and become a valued member of the Roseberry Care family—where your dedication, skill, and kindness will help shape brighter days for every resident.
