Accounts Assistant

Sharp Consultancy are working on behalf of a well-established and growing engineering group based in Beverley, comprising several entities operating across the sector. Due to continued growth and ongoing development within the business, they are now looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team and support the day-to-day accounting function.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong interest in finance who is looking to build a long-term career and develop their accounting skillset within a supportive and progressive environment.

The Accounts Assistant will primarily support the sales ledger function, while also assisting with the purchase ledger as required, ensuring smooth operation across the finance team. Key responsibilities will include:

• Following sales invoicing procedures accurately and efficiently
• Managing and maintaining customer contracts across the group
• Performing bank reconciliations
• Managing debtors and credits
• Monitoring customer accounts and reporting on credit control activity
• Assisting with purchase ledger duties as and when required, including processing invoices and handling supplier queries
• Liaising with internal teams and customers regarding queries and payments
