Location: St. Joseph Hospital – A Member of Catholic Health
Join St. Joseph Hospital, a proud member of Catholic Health, and help lead the safety and security operations of a 203-bed, community-focused hospital in Bethpage, NY. The Security Manager plays a vital leadership role in ensuring a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, physicians, and staff.
Job Responsibilities- Oversee daily security operations, ensuring effective coverage of all hospital buildings, grounds, and parking areas
- Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate security personnel
- Respond to and lead investigations of security incidents, emergencies, and critical events
- Develop, implement, and enforce security policies and procedures in compliance with hospital, state, and regulatory standards
- Coordinate emergency preparedness planning, drills, and response efforts (including fire safety and disaster response)
- Collaborate with hospital leadership, clinical teams, and local law enforcement agencies to maintain a safe environment
- Manage access control systems, surveillance equipment, and security technologies
- Prepare and review detailed incident reports and maintain accurate security documentation
- Identify risks and recommend proactive security improvements
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- NYS Security Guard License required; supervisory certification preferred
- Valid NYS Driver’s License required
- BLS & AED Certification required
- Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive security experience, including supervisory experience (hospital or healthcare setting strongly preferred)
- Knowledge of healthcare security regulations, emergency management, and safety compliance standards
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Salary RangeUSD $35.17 - USD $43.08 /Hr.
The salary range listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
