CNC Machinist

We have an immediate need for CNC Machinists in our machine shops including lathes, horizontal and vertical boring mills, honing machines, and grinding machines. This position works daily with large, complex, fabricated components and requires an analytical approach to machining.

Machinist Responsibilities:

* Responsible for the safe and efficient setup and operation of large vertical boring mill, including knowledge transfer for shift changes and relief operators.

* Machine product to specified requirements as defined on job travelers, drawings, and sketches.

* Verify tooling requirements are met in advance of the commencement of each job and escalate issues as appropriate.

* Modify and edit CNC programming as required; communicate concerns or problems to appropriate personnel.

* Complete and signoff of appropriate and relevant paperwork including time cards, job sheets, traveler, and routers.

* Machine product at optimal conditions to maintain cost effectiveness of machining process.

* Maintain tooling in optimal condition.

* Verify dimensions of parts machined using precision measuring equipment.

* Work with overhead crane operators during setups to manually position work pieces. May utilize blocks, straps, clamps, parallels, or other staging equipment.

* Participate in other special projects for the department.

* Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.

Machinist

Qualifications:

Minimum Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education:

Machinist Certification.

Experience:

1 year CNC Machining experience
