Job Duties And Responsibilities
  • Provide best‑in‑class guest service: greet guests promptly, respond courteously, assist with gaming needs, inform about promotions and the trade‑in program, recommend additional items, apply all selling behaviors, and express gratitude to every guest.
  • Support the overall shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, and nurture guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
  • Process guest purchases and returns accurately via the Point‑of‑Sale (POS) computer system.
  • Address guest comments or questions in person or on the phone, answering calls promptly, courteously, and professionally.
  • Promote Game Stop’s unique guest benefits, such as the title reservations program and the Pro Rewards loyalty program.
  • Ensure that all store areas, including restrooms, are clean, organized, and merchandised according to company guidelines; maintain store fixtures and equipment in proper working order.
  • Complete Omni‑Channel orders daily.
  • Safeguard company assets through effective inventory control and loss prevention practices, including scam awareness, safety best practices, and making bank deposits as required.
  • Conduct store inventory counts, restock merchandise, and move products from the stock room to the front of the store to keep products represented, organized, and alphabetized on the selling floor.
  • Support store management in meeting and exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative and operational duties.
  • Count, balance, and reconcile daily business transaction totals accurately in the POS system; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposit slips correctly.
  • Check shipments for discrepancies or shortages; record discrepancies in the POS system and report to appropriate management.
  • Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately and promptly, ensuring proper labeling and packing list inclusion.
  • Inspect associates’ and leaders’ packages and belongings at store closing or at the end of a shift.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates in the absence of management.
  • Consistently adhere to Game Stop policies and procedures, including all policies in the Associate Handbook and the Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.
  • Follow all opening and closing procedures.
  • Observe associate performance and provide timely and appropriate feedback to store management.
Qualifications
  • Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 1 year of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
  • Video game knowledge preferred.
  • Must be able to work alone, stand, and move throughout the store unassisted for up to 10 hours per day.
