BARTENDER

The primary responsibility of a Bartender is to greet members upon their arrival to the bar area/section, convey daily specials, be able to answer questions about the menu (food, beer, wine and liquor), and accurately take orders and enter them into the POS. A bartender must be able to maintain a calm and hospitable demeanor while working in an extremely fast-paced environment.

Bartenders will mix and serve beverages and serve food prepared from the kitchen.

• Provide immediate and continuous service and attention to all members/guests upon seating, introduce yourself, request members club number.
• Set up and complete assigned side work, including the inspection of the bar and assigned sections.
• Suggestive selling on menu items and highlight specials. Take member and guest orders.
• Mix, prepare, serve and upsell drinks to members, guests. Also, prepare drinks for the service bar for the restaurant's floor servers.
• Place orders with kitchen through Restaurant Manager POS.
• Assist in keeping tables, FOH restaurant and BOH clean at all times.
• Advise supervisor/manager of any complaints and act to resolve complaints.
• Perform clean-up, side work and closing duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.
• Attend pre-meal meetings as requested by supervisor/manager.
• Be active in continuous learning of steps of service, food and beverage knowledge.
• Assist in managing to-go orders.
• Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and members.

• 2 years of experience bartending, preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge of cocktails and mixology required.
• 2 years hospitality experience, preferred.
• TIPS or equivalent certification preferred.
• Must be 21 years or older to serve alcohol in the State of MD.
• Accuracy in listening, writing and verbalizing what you see and hear.
• Read English clearly and neatly write numbers and letters, follow procedures.
• Passion for service.
