Cook - Sports & Social Bethesda at Live! Hospitality & Entertainment
Sports & Social Bethesda is a one-of-a-kind sports bar and social lounge located in the Pike & Rose Development. The 7,700-square-foot location will have TV screens for fans to watch games, including an 18-foot LED display and a 2,000-square-foot outdoor patio. The venue offers made-from-scratch menu items, curated cocktails, live music and events several days a week, and interactive social games.
We are hiring a Cook to support daily kitchen operations and guest experiences.
Responsibilities
- Control food usage to minimize waste.
- Prepare and cook orders for daily operations in a timely manner.
- Advise supervisor of low inventory items; assist in receiving items and taking inventory as required.
- Restock items as needed through the shift.
- Maintain sanitation and cleanliness standards in the kitchen that meet or exceed state and local Health Board inspection and company requirements.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and well-organized work area, including reach-ins, walk-ins, and counters.
- Report unsafe or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.
- May assist by performing ware washing or other kitchen duties as needed.
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments; may occasionally interact directly with guests.
- Perform more than one task at a time.
Qualifications
- At least one year of experience cooking on a fast-paced kitchen line and food preparation experience.
- Culinary certified training preferred.
- Basic knowledge of cooking, following recipes, portion control, and presentation.
- Strong communication skills when interacting with other cooks, wait staff and supervisors.
- Reading and writing abilities used when preparing meals from recipes, assisting in kitchen staff scheduling, or monitoring inventory.
- Mathematical skills including basic math, percentages, quantities, and variances.
- Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency.
- May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
Work requirements
- Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Standing for extended periods in the kitchen; safe and efficient movement.
- Handling food, objects, products and utensils.
- Bending, stooping, kneeling.
Compensation
The pay range for this role is $17.50 - $20 an hour.
