Position Overview
Health Advocates Network is seeking a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse to work at a facility in Bethesda, MD
.
Pay Rate: $32 / hour (W2)
Qualifications- At least 2 years of experience as a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse in an acute care setting
- Minimum Education al:
Diploma of LPN or LVN from an accredited National League of Nursing (NLN) approved program - Valid, unrestricted LPN/LVN license in at least one state, territory or commonwealth of the U.S.
- Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Continuously employed in the practice of Licensed Practical Nurse for 1 year prior to start of work at the MTF
- Experience in an Acute Care hospital, Inpatient Rehab Facility or Center
- Knowledge of a wide range of medical disorders/conditions, diagnostic studies and treatments related to prevention and detection of illnesses in adults is desirable.
- The contracted LPN/LVN will be knowledgeable in professional care theories, principles, practices and procedures to perform nursing assignments of moderate difficulty and experience in assessing adult and geriatric patients, as appropriate.
- Knowledge of computer operations and proficiency in the use of basic word processing, data entry and automated medical records.
- Demonstrate professionalism in conduct including interactions with other team members, willingness to admit areas where improvement is needed, honesty in documentation of work hours and leave requests, and responsiveness to feedback from team members.
- Use the nursing process as a basis for professional practice. The contracted LPN/LVN will demonstrate proper assessment, preparation of patients for treatments and procedures, including surgical interventions.
- Perform or assist with clinic‑specific procedures, in accordance with established policies and guidelines used in the MTF and IAW JC guidelines; supervise all needed paraprofessionals; skill in setting up, operating and monitoring specialized medical equipment such as IV infusion pumps, cardiac monitoring devices, EKG units, oxygen analyzers, nebulizers and other clinic‑specific equipment.
