Job Summary: Manages operational support functions. Works in conjunction with the management team to implement store programs, control and reduce operating expenses while maximizing customer service and operational performance.
Duties and Responsibilities- Manage and coordinate store receiving, stocking, customer service, accounting and front-end operations.
- Audit policies and procedures to ensure effectiveness of operations.
- Supervise associates in accounting, janitorial, customer service and other store operational support functions.
- Coordinate store staffing requirements and training programs.
- Develop and maintain work schedules, conduct interviews, hire personnel and monitor payroll expenses.
- Maintain an ongoing associate training program, including new associate orientation, customer service, cash handling, merchandising programs, safety, loss prevention, etc.
- Manage sales audit, cashier cage operation, cash collection and control.
- Oversee collection of accounting data, documents and reports from operational areas and submission to appropriate office for processing.
- Receive and handle customer complaints, determine methods for resolving issues and identify opportunities for increasing customer service and satisfaction.
- Ensure efficient operation of receiving and stock replenishment functions.
- Prepare statistical reports and analysis on controllable expenses (payroll, supplies, janitorial, etc.) and take action to manage expenses to budget and sales trends.
- Coordinate and manage main store maintenance and housekeeping requirements.
- Carry out policy of courtesy and customer service.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Training Requirement: Associate must receive Hazardous Material (Haz Mat) training within 90 days of hire per Department of Transportation regulations.
Experience RequirementsGeneral
Experience:
3 years in administrative, professional, investigative, or other responsible work to gain general knowledge of management practices and administrative processes, skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships and the ability to exercise mature judgment.
Educational Substitution: 1 year of academic study above the high school level may be substituted for 9 months of experience; up to a maximum of a 4‑year bachelor’s degree can substitute for 3 years of general experience.
Specialized
Experience:
2 years of progressively responsible experience in administrative, supervisory, managerial, professional or technical work demonstrating knowledge of management principles, practices, methods and techniques. Knowledge of retail and/or services, merchandising principles, procedures, and related activities in accounting, personnel, procurement and distribution management, and store operations.
